M\u00e1s de 2.500 personas de 26 pa\u00edses se reunieron el 17 de mayo de 2025 para celebrar la segunda edici\u00f3n de WalkingRivers<\/strong>. Se organizaron 118 rutas a lo largo de 111 r\u00edos<\/strong>, y los participantes recorrieron m\u00e1s de 850 kil\u00f3metros<\/strong>, convirti\u00e9ndo un simple acto en un poderoso s\u00edmbolo de unidad medioambiental y defensa de los r\u00edos.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Este evento mundial reuni\u00f3 a organizaciones gubernamentales, ONG, colectivos ciudadanos, activistas y personas apasionadas por los r\u00edos, con el objetivo de destacar la belleza y la importancia de estos ecosistemas vitales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La iniciativa, liderada por el Centro Ib\u00e9rico para la Restauraci\u00f3n de R\u00edos (CIREF)<\/strong>, Wetlands International Europe<\/strong> y el Observatorio del Agua de la Fundaci\u00f3n Bot\u00edn,<\/strong> registr\u00f3 este a\u00f1o un notable aumento en la participaci\u00f3n. El n\u00famero de rutas inscritas creci\u00f3 un 26%<\/strong>, pasando de 93 a 118, con un crecimiento destacado en Espa\u00f1a e India<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00abNos conmovi\u00f3 profundamente la pasi\u00f3n que nuestros l\u00edderes fluviales pusieron en sus rutas\u00bb, declar\u00f3 Luc\u00eda De Stefano<\/strong>, una de las fundadoras de WalkingRivers. \u00abLas rutas comenzaban en Indonesia y terminaban al otro lado del mundo, en la costa oeste de Estados Unidos. Esto demuestra el inter\u00e9s que la gente tiene por sus r\u00edos locales y lo fundamental que es conservarlos, as\u00ed como los h\u00e1bitats que los rodean\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La edici\u00f3n de este a\u00f1o puso de manifiesto la diversidad y la creatividad de sus participantes. En Argentina, un grupo acompa\u00f1\u00f3 su caminata con m\u00fasica cumbia en vivo<\/strong>, mientras que en Portugal una comunidad cre\u00f3 una escultura con la inscripci\u00f3n \u201cWalkingRivers\u201d. En otros lugares, los grupos dise\u00f1aron camisetas, chapas y v\u00eddeos personalizados. El mensaje fue claro: los r\u00edos son extraordinarios y merecen ser protegidos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WalkingRivers 2025<\/strong> tambi\u00e9n fue una celebraci\u00f3n de la inclusi\u00f3n. Participaron desde escolares espa\u00f1oles que caminaron como parte de sus grupos scouts hasta un hombre de 90 a\u00f1os en Portugal, todos compartiendo una experiencia colectiva basada en el amor por la naturaleza. Organizaciones, activistas ciudadanos, instituciones gubernamentales y personas individuales caminaron bajo un mismo lema: la conservaci\u00f3n de nuestros r\u00edos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
