THE CHALLENGE OF RECOVERING THE RIVERS: RESILIENCE FOR HEALTH, NATURAL ENVIRONMENT AND THE IMPACTS OF GLOBAL CHANGE
The Conference, RestauraRios 2023, is a meeting point looking into 2030, where we are going to dialogue about how to address the next seven years in relation to global change and the role that river restoration is going to play in this context.
The event will bring together people related to management, research, planning, river restoration experts, environmentalists, river conservation volunteers, communicators and general public interested in the recovery of our rivers.

Urban rivers, challenge in river restoration
Restoration, rehabilitation in urban and peri-urban land settings, connectivity river-city,
river perception in urban environments, green infrastructure
Flow, sediment, processes and space
Fluvial geomorphology, environmental flows, sediment transport, restoration of hydromorphological longitudinal continuity, recovery of river room, flood management, natural flood management, monitoring
Riparian vegetation and fauna: recovery of life in rivers
Water Framework Directive and Habitats Directive, invasive species, restoration of riparian habitats and riparian woodland, fish passes and recovery of longitudinal continuity for species, ecological monitoring, recovery of animal species: fish, macroinvertebrates, mammals and birds

Organisation
The team of the Conference, RestauraRios 2023 is formed by different Committees: Organiser, Scientific and Honour formed by interdisciplinary experts of river restoration coming from public and private sectors and NGO’s.
